If you sit on it squarely and do not rock back and forth and let the kids beat on it, it will stay together well. I'm 5'10' 175 pounds and it held up just fine. Probably could handle 25 more pounds pretty easy but if you are a bigger person, your belly is not going to fit. But I rated this 5 stars because it's light, folds up amazingly well and was great to seat 4 and fits in any sized trunk. We kept it under our pop up shelter all week and the 4 kids and adults at camp used it for eating, cards, games, you name it. It became a center of social activities. It is plastic so if you jump, stand or don't treat it well, you are going to break it.
